16U Charlton Runner Up At NSA State

June '24 - Pasco, WA - The Avengers 16U Charlton squad had to work their way through the bottom bracket to make it to the Championship game and 2nd Place finish at the NSA State Tournament. The club drew the eventual tournament champion in their first game and suffered a loss that put them into the loser bracket and forcing them to push through six wins in a row to make it back through to the Championship game on Sunday. The group did just that, racking up win after win and forcing their way into the Finals.

The Championship game was a back and forth affair. Their fourth back to back game of the day, they battled through multiple injuries, heat in the 90's and exhaustion as they made a valiant effort, including a two run homerun shot from Katie Trail in the top of the 7th, to try and claw back into the game. Ultimately they fell short, losing 7-9. The team racked up an astonishing 73 hits, 60 RBI and 6 homeruns (including 3 from Kaylie Plyer) over the 8 game tournament, hitting .374 as a team for the weekend.
